Gaussian Splatting 3D Scans
in Portofino – Italy
on the Pucci fashion show
Gaussian Splatting is a very recent 3D scanning technology. It allows you to reconstruct and visualize a scene in 3D, with a visual rendering far superior to “traditional” photogrammetry algorithms, with minimal retouching.
The year 2025 was the first year Effigy used Gaussian Splatting on several 3D scanning projects for fashion brand campaigns. For example, we moved and installed the scanning studio (60 SLR cameras) on the Pucci fashion show site in Portofino, Italy.
Several models, including Naomi Campbell, were scanned just before their runway appearances to create clips where the camera revolves around the model; a style of production that combines the glamour of fashion photography with the dynamism of 3D animation. Our agency partner "The NewFace" used 3DGS (Gaussian Splatting) scans to create several stunning clips, broadcast on the Pucci brand's Instagram account.
